And This Week's Comically Insane Conservative Award Goes To...

Actually, it's a tough choice and there are many worthy contenders.

There's Mark Sanford, and I don't really need to say anything beyond that. And neither should he, btw.

There's Michelle Bachman, who is telling anyone who will listen that participating in the 2010 census is pretty much the same thing as being Japanese and being in a WWII internment camp. Or something like that. But the best part of this is, if she convinces enough Minnesotans to skip the census so they won't end up in an internment camp, the state may in fact end up losing a Congressional seat. And the seat most likely to get vanished? Michelle's Bachman's, of course. Heh.

But last, there's the second most important person in the McCain '09 presidential campaign -- after Sarah Palin, of course -- and that's former Pajamas Media war correspondent and never-actual-plumber Joe Wurzelbacher. Like all top conservative leaders, Joe was recently asked if he was thinking about running for public office. Here's what Joe had to say in reply:

I hope not. You know, I talked to God about that and he was like, ‘No.' I believe he’s gotten me on this grassroots movement. If I can encourage leaders to step up, that’s what I would like to do. That’s a heavy role. That’s something I don’t know if I am prepared to do yet.

Thanks, Joe! And congratulations on being this week's Comically Insane Conservative!!

Bachmann is fast becoming the Cynthia McKinney...

...of the GOP, but Bachmann hasn't quite mastered the "they're coming to take me away, ha ha" look.

But as I recall, McKinney was never a part of the Obama campaign, or a rock star on the GOP zombie circuit. And that's the difference between the two political parties.

Going about your daily business of encouraging meaningful dialogue, I see.

One is tempted to produce a parody, substituting "Liberal" for "Conservative" in your title, followed by this week's dopiest lefty quotes, etc.

But one finds one hasn't the time.

One finds that one is bored stiff by such color-by-numbers ideological hackery.

And yet, on a certain level, one can't help but admire the sheer *energy* that you put into it.

--

God help the while, a bad world I say.

Gee, if only someone produced a parody like that. (#172301)

Can Bird Dog's diary count as parody even though it came 10 hours *earlier* than Harley's?

Selective outrage, yawn.

Actually, it's tomsyl's fault. He suggested I need to scratch my itches more publicly and with greater frequency -- something like that, anyway -- so, as always, I aim to please.

Thanks for dropping by long enuf to impress us by how easily you are bored. How very George Sanders of you.

As for your big brain SAT score idea that one might replace Conservative and Liberal in order to offer a parody...

Uhm. You saw Bird's diary about this week's Angry Liberal, yes? Cuz...

Oh, never mind.

Perhaps people who are busy gushing over the Obama cult today might do well to stop and think about what it would mean for their granddaughters to live under sharia law.

Thomas Sowell, in one of the nation's premiere conservative websites. The conservative movement has been reduced to this kind of ludicrous and inflammatory nonsense.

Beyond parody. Hopefully they'll keep themselves beyond electability.

Be kind to Sowell (#172282)

I remain convinced that he suffered some kind of debilitating brain injury circa 2003. His books and articles prior to that were often very good.

Now, he's just a nut, of the "1. Elect Obama. 2. ???? 3. Sharia Law" variety.

Did you take a look at the quote he's talking about? Got an opinion? And how is finding it odd or nutty come even close to sputtering?

What an odd little elbow to throw.

Yawn.

Thanks for the tip-off.

You don't find that kind of quote inflammatory nonsense? OK, then.

BACHMANN: You know the question that's not on this survey, Glenn? "Are you a U.S. citizen?" This would be your perfect opportunity to find out how many illegal aliens are in the United States.

This woman is even dumber than sarah palin.
