The lack of free will of man and the slavery induced by the lie of human/creature free will versus the Empty Sack
1Corinthians 10:1-14 For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and all were baptised unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of a spiritual rock which followed them : (now the rock was the Christ;) yet God was not pleased with the most of them, for they were strewed in the desert. But these things happened as types of us, that we should not be lusters after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed fornication, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt the Christ, as some of them tempted, and perished by serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer. Now all these things happened to them as types, and have been written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come. So that let him that thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has taken you but such as is according to man's nature; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able to bear , but will with the temptation make the issue also, so that ye should be able to bear it . Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Pray about this in Christ:
Before you move from where you are now as looking at this screen, according to the lie of free will through the infinite mass of persons and creatures, you owe them all.
According to them in non-creating speech:
you owe parents because you exist
you owe soldiers for your political freedom and indeed life itself
you owe preachers for your spiritual freedom
you owe teachers your intellectual freedom
you owe business owners and land owners for a tax base from which you as a citizen
benefit by public works
you owe politicians for whatever state of that benefit you have
you owe clerks and salespeople for the ability to buy at all
you owe yourself for the power of recognizing how much you owe and what else you can do between episodes of repaying those you owe
Not only do you owe your entire existence to other people's use of their free will in the lie of free will, you owe God and have to repay Him exactly as you would repay those others. In short, you are already a slave to a lie that you owe everyone and carry a sack full of guilt at all times of those I-owe-yous that grow faster than you can repay even though you occasionally have bouts of a God-complex that you will one day repay them all in and with your free will once you demonstrate the very superpowers supposedly mandated to do so, even though you don't know all those people or their representative groups (even though you may consider yourself to be a part of one or a multitude of such groups ) and they don't even know you.
In fact, when you see someone in Christ who has no such guilt sack at all and so doesn't carry one because they have been blessed by God in Jesus Christ to freely and completely understand they owe God everything and He has Himself repaid the whole and is still God and you are still you and not-God, you become enraged and yell to those-you-owe-according-to-your-own-lie-of-free-will exactly as one would attempt to do favors for a creditor for a reduction of debt: "Hey! There's one! They aren't paying back! Let's get them!" --and later say you did nothing but "legally" take what others would not rightfully "repay".
The socialistic lie / system of 'community' is exactly that system of equivalent and reciprocal debt based on the lie of free will. Thus to regulate people's behavior in that lie of free will and to maintain that equivalence and reciprocity at all times a top-down "strong-man" governmental model is always the result so as to simplify who manufactures and says what areas everyone owes everyone in and exactly how those debts are repaid. Indeed, the everyday mentality/spirit is attempt to regulate one's own debt structure so as to give oneself the maximum "freedom" and thus all the others cry foul and say they "need" the Strong Man government to get their due from their neighbor's attempts at "not pulling their load". Thus the people drift into tyranny crying "Freedom!"
Yet those in Christ have the appearance to those in the lie of free will of self-regulating and having no need of government at all except for those among them deceived they have free will and assume that lie on all others: that mixed group of individuals will need a small government if the most are in Christ; they will need a huge government if the most are in the lie of free will. Of those in Christ: No one is counting on the slavery of their neighbor to an "idea"/spirit of community debt that can be individualized to collect for themselves among their neighbors and all assume their neighbor is in fact as free as they themselves are --to do whatever God wishes to do through them in any given instant. You don't find them condemning the actions of others as if others had free will to do as they pleased and you don't find them saying they are personally owed ..anything by anyone. So you don't find them laying hands on others to supposedly exact a debt the other was un"willing" to pay in defiance of a supposed communal common sense. You do find those in the lie of free will saying in a very stylized-to-be-an-arch-typical-friendly-manner among themselves that "community" makes "all" strong when what they are really setting up to do is rape their neighbors as politically mandated reciprocity and equivalence.
John 16:1-3 These things I have spoken unto you that ye may not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues; but the hour is coming that every one who kills you will think to render service to God; and these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor me.
Mark 7:32-37 And they bring to him a deaf man who could not speak right, and they beseech him that he might lay his hand on him. And having taken him away from the crowd apart, he put his fingers to his ears; and having spit, he touched his tongue; and looking up to heaven he groaned, and says to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. And immediately his ears were opened, and the band of his tongue was loosed and he spoke right. And he charged them that they should speak to no one of it . But so much the more *he* charged them, so much the more abundantly *they* proclaimed it; and they were astonished above measure, saying, He does all things well; he makes both the deaf to hear, and the speechless to speak.

I take it, then, that you're a dispensationalist?

)Supralapsarian premillenarian and that's it.
I just don't get into it: end times stuff on a dispy level. All I have ever seen of it is simply part of arminianism and ploy to distract and divide. As a Roman Catholic priest once said to me on a discussion board as he introduced the subject "there is no better way to break up evangelicals than to introduce eschatology into a discussion." ..even though I'm not an evangelical. It worked.
What God does through me is expose the whole lie of free will and that as part of an extension of the gospel even in politics. All I have ever seen of dispenationalism is coming off of free will ( as an ability to interpret at all..) no matter what flavor it is; part of and an offshoot of the whole Higher Criticism move to divide what would otherwise be peaceful brethren.
Nice pick up. Not many would have noticed Darby over King James. I understand Darby to be the "father of dispenationalism". Darby has weaknesses in the New Testament but I much prefer the Old Testament of Darby. Rendering of actual Names of God, etc..
1Cointhians 11:18,19 For first, when ye come together in assembly, I hear there exist divisions among you, and I partly give credit to it . For there must also be sects among you, that the approved may become manifest among you.

For that matter, I'm rather curious as to how you can take something that was clearly meant for the points of contact between infinite God and finite man and draw any conclusions about what is prior to what in the divine plan.

| parent )and very plainly as God's election taking precedence over creatures prior to their sin ( in this verse, prior to them being born..):
Romans 9:10-13 And not only that , but Rebecca having conceived by one, Isaac our father, the children indeed being not yet born, or having done anything good or worthless (that the purpose of God according to election might abide, not of works, but of him that calls), it was said to her, The greater shall serve the less: according as it is written, I have loved Jacob, and I have hated Esau.
If, as non-creating speech/anti-Christ through the free willers claim, God is not His Word and lied about being Incarnated, living, dying and being resurrected specifically as His Word and as a result of God supposedly having lied about that, then God must "use language" as a supposed other 'x' He supposedly created for the purpose of communicating will-neutrally (i.e. as supposedly not being creating speech and thus bringing into being what He Said as He spoke it) with it, then sin can be the effect that produces the cause of God's judgment and anti-Christ through free willers has a point. In order for that to work as a doctrine, God can't be His Word or Creating Speech.
But God IS His Word AND Creating Speech as is testified by the Scriptures themselves AS those Scriptures.
It is plain that if all one has ever heard is non-creating speech/anti-Christ then as they read the Scriptures and if God does not Speak to them, they can only be deceived that the free will of man is the only logical possibility given the whole of Scripture.
All God has to do is plaster the ears of those souls and they will never hear Him even though He is always Speaking through the Scriptures. That plastering is exactly what we find in those who dis-believe in Jesus Christ and/or make up a false Christ to "believe in" "with their own will" AND while supposedly maintaining for themselves the supposed power that all of total reality has to be will-neutral with respect to them. They believe it as best honesty and no joke or insincerity. The worst effects of that delusion are seen in the crowd who follows Todd Bentley and that kind of liar. They can quote Scripture all day.
Isaiah 44:18 They have no knowledge, and understand not; for he hath plastered their eyes, that they may not see; and their hearts, that they may not understand.
To those in Christ God Says:
Luke 8:10 And he said, To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables, in order that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.
yet anti-Christ constantly pretends that everybody can see and everybody can hear with no limitations. Yet God's election stands. Those who cannot hear and cannot see stay in sin and then sin more and more because they have no other speech or spirit than sin itself. Thus God plainly chose for them whether or not they would sin and did not at all place them in a will-neutral environment in which they were supposed to work out "what sin is" in over to "not do it". Those people are always seen to be asking about "the problem of evil" as if they were diligently searching for how to not be evil --for themselves.
and again:
Romans 9:15-26 For he says to Moses, I will shew mercy to whom I will shew mercy, and I will feel compassion for whom I will feel compassion. So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shews mercy. For the scripture says to Pharaoh, For this very thing I have raised thee up from amongst men , that I might thus shew in thee my power, and so that my name should be declared in all the earth. So then, to whom he will he shews mercy, and whom he will he hardens. Thou wilt say to me then, Why does he yet find fault? for who resists his purpose? Aye, but thou, O man, who art *thou* that answerest again to God? Shall the thing formed say to him that has formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Or has not the potter authority over the clay, out of the same lump to make one vessel to honour, and another to dishonour? And if God, minded to shew his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much long-suffering vessels of wrath fitted for destruction; and that he might make known the riches of his glory upon vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared for glory, us, whom he has also called, not only from amongst the Jews, but also from amongst the nations? As he says also in Hosea, I will call not-my-people My people; and the-not-beloved Beloved. And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them, *Ye* are not my people, there shall they be called Sons of the living God.

| parent )One the outside of the door is written "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely." (Revelation 22:17)
On the inside of the door, once you're through, you will read in Ephesians 1: "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved."
The metaphor I use, internally, to describe this is my DVR player, which has the Cubs-Brewer game on it. I already know how the game ends, in the sixth inning the Cubs hand those pathetic Brewers their hats. Christians believe God is eternal, the Alpha and the Omega. Therefore, he is not constrained by time, and knows the end and the beginning. God calls himself the "I AM", he is present in all points in time, and in all places.
We, the players, Cubs and Brewers, sit in the dugout and chew and spit and go to bat and pitch and catch and run around the bases. For us, these are not foregone conclusions. Baseball is the one game not run on the clock, but it can be called on account of darkness or rain, but eventually the game gets played. It does have an ending, and the recording occupies a finite amount of space on my DVR.
We, too, will have an ending, as we had a beginning. We must live our lives, striving however imperfectly, to live in the light of eternity. Eternity is not a great long stretch of time, but every point along the line.
Privately, I believe Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. I believe that God will judge mankind. I believe the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was the ultimate payment to all sin, past, present and future. Therefore, it is not our sins which will send us to hell: were it my own righteousness which might save me, I would be surely damned. As everyone here will attest, I am not a good man, I am a forgiven man.
Of course, there's a rational flaw in all this: if all have been forgiven, how then will anyone go to hell? It troubles me, too. I cop out by saying "God who forgave all men their sins through the sacrifice of his son, for reasons known only to himself, will also judge mankind, and it is not my problem. My problem is myself and my continuing lapses into sin, which can only be described dishonesty and disloyalty and failure to follow the path."
So there you have it. I suppose Timmy would call me a weak-tea liberal theologian, but I'm not. I wish I was so wonderful and good and free of sin, so I could go around condemning other people and preaching here and there. My Dad was an ordained minister. I couldn't do that. I know who I am, a vastly imperfect person, and nobody's good example.

| parent )..when it might cost you your life or money instead of saying it out loud privately. If God did that through you that would be called the gospel, minus the implied lie of "gospel offer" to appeal to a "free will" and the lie that "all have been forgiven" and the emotional weirdness induced thereafter by said lie.
Jesus plainly Says that all will not be forgiven:
Mark 3:28-30 Verily I say unto you, that all sins shall be forgiven to the sons of men, and all the injurious speeches with which they may speak injuriously but whosoever shall speak injuriously against the Holy Spirit, to eternity has no forgiveness; but lies under the guilt of an everlasting sin; --because they said, He has an unclean spirit.
As well:
Revelation 21:7,8 He that overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be to him God, and he shall be to me son. But to the fearful and unbelieving, and sinners , and those who make themselves abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
Plainly not all are forgiven and none of those who are not forgiven could care less while in flesh if they offend the Holy Spirit by what they do. Yet that is exactly what they do and they are not forgiven. So sinning against the Holy Spirit is not some strange obtuse sin none can understand; it shows up as being fearful and unbelieving sinners , those who make themselves abominable, murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars..
Reaching for an emotional dogma that is a mere construct of men as anti-Christ does it through them and seeking to hold that dogma up as superior to all God has plainly Said in order to bring about a kind of non-violence that isn't peace is speaking against the Spirit of Grace as if the Holy Spirit were a liar.
If you have truly been born again from above, then you as a new creature in Jesus Christ cannot sin. God plainly says this --that we are forever divided from sin in the new birth:
1John 3:6-10 Whoever abides in him, does not sin: whoever sins, has not seen him or known him. Children, let no man lead you astray; he that practises righteousness is righteous, even as *he* is righteous. He that practises sin is of the devil; for from the beginning the devil sins. To this end the Son of God has been manifested, that he might undo the works of the devil. Whoever has been begotten of God does not practise sin, because his seed abides in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been begotten of God. In this are manifest the children of God and the children of the devil. Whoever does not practise righteousness is not of God, and he who does not love his brother.
God Says as well that whoever says they have no sin is a liar and God is not contradicting Himself to say we have no sin yet we have sin.
1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
The sin is in the flesh but that is NOT you otherwise there is no fight "between" the Spirit and the flesh.
Galatians 5:16-18 But I say, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall no way fulfil flesh's lust. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these things are opposed one to the other, that ye should not do those things which ye desire; but if ye are led by the Spirit, ye are not under law.
While Paul is still in flesh he is a sinner in the sense that his flesh is sinning and doing against his wishes what he wants to do. Yet in doing what he doesn't will, his own flesh effectively says "I'm not you." --to Paul and God through Paul Says to us "it is no longer I" that sins. Thus his flesh, as ours, is a pit full of sin yet Paul as new creature in Jesus Christ is sin-less and so are you if you are new creature in Jesus Christ. The struggle between the flesh and spirit is very plainly described as lack of free will as well:
Romans 7:15-25 For that which I do, I do not own: for not what I will, this I do; but what I hate, this I practise. But if what I do not will, this I practise, I consent to the law that it is right. Now then it is no longer *I* that do it, but the sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, good does not dwell: for to will is there with me, but to do right I find not. For I do not practise the good that I will; but the evil I do not will, that I do. But if what *I* do not will, this I practise, it is no longer *I* that do it, but the sin that dwells in me. I find then the law upon *me* who will to practise what is right, that with *me* evil is there. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring in opposition to the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which exists in my members. O wretched man that I am ! who shall deliver me out of this body of death? I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then *I* *myself* with the mind serve God's law; but with the flesh sin's law.
According to the lie of free will and the lie "you are your flesh" that has to go with it to make it make sense, double amputees are fifty percent less people than those that are whole in flesh. That is an unspoken rule among free willers that makes them have the attitude toward the handicapped they inevitably do as "will impediments" for the "rest of us".
Beware. You have a lot of real pride while you wrongly accuse me of having pride simply because you see what God does through me as if I had done it myself.
1John 4:13 Hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, that he has given to us of his Spirit.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen

I am also fond of this one:
God grants unto each of us such glimpses of his Truth as our souls are capable of bearing.
It is the height of arrogance (and pride is a terrible sin) to haughtily believe we ourselves are guaranteed superior access to the Truth, than is granted to our Neighbor. Each of us must make our own choices as best we can.

| parent )Whatever you intended, God used you to give me an insight into one of the characters for a screenplay:
He's on a team sent to the US. His role is the Wahhabist; essentially a political officer sent to keep the rest in Islamic perfection per his particular understanding of the mission. He is constantly in conflict with the traditionalist/nationalist over "motivation" for "why" the traditionalist does what he does. It isn't good enough for the Wahhabist that the traditionalist merely get the job done, but that he 'think correctly' and 'feel correctly' as he does so. He sees the traditionalist as loving Mom and Pop too much and allah too little "as he works". His own life is one of internalizing allah every moment and thinking that if he can get others to live that life as well that will be proof to himself of his own 'holiness' and that he was 'right' all along.
Essentially what you have wrongly accused me of... It takes a free willer sometimes to perfectly describe free willer think and free willer feel even if those descriptions are wrongly foisted on others as if a description of what they actually do.
As well, that works nicely with the overt Satanist among them ( the rest have no notion of actually worshiping anything but their own 'free' will for money, sex and adventure with religion as a type of bath every now and again..) that masquerades as the money launderer/handler who is there from Satan to emotionally adjust them so they never really know what's going on. He is a spirit handler/witch that has the appearance among them of being the most emotionally plain and indeed the preacemaker among them between the very spirits he calls up on them... (so that if asked "who is the satanist among you" he would be the last they would ever see as that satanist becuase of his 'love' of "peace"..) the witch works with the Wahhabist to be the go-between with the freemasons. Always a cut-out that can blamed for "conflicting loyalty' issues..
thanks again.

He stands before the gates of Paradise, denying himself entry, a colossal Statue of Liberty in the vastness of the universe, a beacon of hope. When every sentient being has at last been purged and achieved enlightenment, when all souls, no matter how vile have at last been liberated from the Wheel, he will at last enter.
And he will shut the door.

Which is to say, I've always been curious as to how folks can try to plumb the mysteries of God's eternal decrees by means of the revelations we have of Him, which let us know only a tiny, tiny fraction of His infinite properties.

| parent )Calvin and his Institutes go into this in many tedious tomes.
Calvin's point was the sovereignty of God, over and opposed to the abysmal state of affairs at that point in the Catholic theology, wherein God was for all practical purposes a corrupt judge who actually posted a schedule of bribes through his bailiffs the priests for the various offenses he might be called on to try, with all bribes rolling up to his temporal agent the Pope. The saints were also Special Pleaders and Mary had become more important than Jesus. Bishops and cardinals and the like were not men of faith: they were merely the executives for Godco Inc.
Never argue Free Will with a Calvinist on the basis of Scripture: he'll fire the whole nine yards of the Book of Romans at you: few are the theologians who can dispute them. They genuinely dislike the Book of Revelation, especially that quotation I made. Their weak point, theologically, is their own internal differences: set them against each other. As is the case with Timmy, they all feel compelled to endlessly condemn Free Will, not because we need the lesson, but because they need to constantly re-read the lesson.
You see, a Calvinist is rather like a Salafi Muslim: they are ultra-fatalists. Other Muslims despise the Salafi for the ugliness of their rhetoric, condemning other Muslims, most Muslims believe condemning another Muslim's belief is a sin. Judaism is equally appalled by the fights between the Satmars and the Lubovitschers. It's to y'all's lasting credit that you tolerate Timmy here at all, I find him an embarrassment. But you tolerate me, too, and I'm constantly repeating the same points. Guess we all do that after our own fashion: we write these things, not so much that other will be converted to our viewpoints, but that we ourselves are reassured in our own convictions.

| parent )He never really delved into the issue of supra- versus infralapsarianism. Which is healthy and sane, given that it is the height of arrogance to assume that any person can look deeply enough into the mind of the eternal to see which decrees necessarily hinge on others. And you really can't even begin to address that issue with scripture--even verses about God hardening whom he will don't address the issue of whether they're hardened so that God could have someone to punish.
So since Timothy tends to avoid citing the reformed theologians who influence his thought, I figure I'd kind of like to see how he gets to supralapsarianism.
And I think that your second paragraph is rather unfair to late medieval moral theology. Late medieval Catholicism's schedules of indulgences were something of a natural outgrowth of the moral theology involving the distinction between mortal and venial sins, between eternal and temporal punishments. Once you've fixed the doctrine of purgatory and that people can be prayed out more quickly than if they made it on their own, a lot of the rest winds up following, humans being fallible beings who tend to put things into terms they can understand.
And if you'd asked a Parisian moral theologian of the late fifteenth century if indulgences were a bribe that you paid to get bumped to the head of the line, he would vehemently deny it.
In fact, to wrap up this rambly post of mine, I think that the hair-splitting over infra- and supralapsarianism comes from the same impulse that led late medieval Catholicism to publish exact schedules of how many years, months, days, and hours a soul could shave off of the stay in purgatory. When finite people try to break down and quantify the infinite, you get problems.

| parent )The Happy Sin of Adam, wherein Adam's sin was actually a good thing, since it brought on the necessity of Christ's redemptive work. That's pretty much where supralapsarianism starts, though the Supras say that let God go about sorting out the saved from the damned.
The Infras get all annoyed with the Supras, saying sin entered the world, but that just pulled the spring back on the pinball machine. Where the ball ends up is unknown, God didn't create one class of Damned and another of Redeemed.
Then everyone starts in yammering about Redemption. If you're on the Salvation Bus, can you decide to get off? Oh the fussing about that one got really ugly. And if you get off, can you ever get back on? And if you can, do you have to buy another ticket?
About that time, as if matters weren't cornfuzing enough, what are we redeemed /from/ exactly? Let's stipulate to the fact all men are sinners, and beat ourselves up a while on a pro-forma basis, but we still have this yearning for God and we understand we're sinners, and furthermore there's a whole lot of Sinnin' going on even on the Salvation Bus. Now what? Does that mean we're not entirely sinful before we got in the Salvation Bus? Or not entirely Redeemed when we are? And can you get thrown off the Salvation Bus for Sinning?
What really scares Calvinists is Fire Insurance. They're secretly envious of the rest of us, who aren't too much concerned about the minutiae of Salvation so much as dealing with the sin in our own lives. They say our Christianity is just Fire Insurance, we repent one day and say we're all born again and suchlike, but we can't stop sinning. They sin, too, and it's sorta like being sexually repressed or in the closet, they just can't deal with it, so they get all fatalistic and retreat into their own world, like some sort of Protestant yeshiva, where they're so busy studying doctrinal matters they don't have any time to sin. But they still think about the good times on the outside, and this just drives 'em crazy.

Christ explores abstract and free-will-less scenery as motifs to describe the idea of cyber-intuitive hallucination. )Those of the household of faith should be fed first if you know them.
Gal 6:10 So then, as we have occasion, let us do good towards all, and specially towards those of the household of faith.
We don't "owe" them anything. But God gives gratuitously through us..
Matthew 10:7,8 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of the heavens has drawn nigh. Heal the infirm, raise the dead , cleanse lepers, cast out demons: ye have received gratuitously, give gratuitously.
But as for enemies among a list of those in fleshly need more than others..
Matthew 5:44-48 But *I* say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who insult you and persecute you, that ye may be the sons of your Father who is in the heavens; for he makes his sun rise on evil and good, and sends rain on just and unjust. For if ye should love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not also the tax-gatherers the same? And if ye should salute your brethren only, what do ye extraordinary? Do not also the Gentiles the same? Be *ye* therefore perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.
His Word creates obedience in us and He is in us doing His will. So its not as if we had to decide what His Word "means" in order to do obedience on the fly per situation. But they need to be saved and so well treated for the sake of the elect among them. It's worth the fight. That's what we are here for. I myself was such a one. Everyone starts out in that lie because they start out in that non-creating speech. ..Even though God says of those that will never saved :
Isaiah 26:10,11 If favour be shewn to the wicked, he doth not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness he dealeth unjustly, and beholdeth not the majesty of Jehovah. Jehovah, thy hand is lifted up, but they do not see: yet they shall see thy jealousy for the people, and be ashamed; yea, the fire which is for thine adversaries shall devour them.
even if later on God is that fire through us as law enforcement and/or national security.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen

| parent )more important things we should be doing? :)
I'm going to be perfectly honest with you and tell you I don't think Jesus is talking about saving the elect. The Matthew passage and the Isaiah passage are not saying the same thing at all. Jesus's talking about being generous as God is generous, which he defines as being generous to those who do not deserve it. Be like God, he is saying, and forgive in your heart those who would harm you. Jesus' entire project is an attempt to save from sin those who resist being saved. The hard cases. The whores and thieves and moneychangers, the sick and the despairing...the national security zealots like Saul of Tarsus. He doesn't preach unforgiveness. He doesn't preach law enforcement and/or national security. He doesn't sound like Isaiah. He doesn't sound at all like Paul.
Jesus is the kind of guy who says things like:
He's talking about how good it is to choose friends, not to choose who to save and who to cast in the lake of fire. He's saying everyone has a chance.
