Angkor Thom Gallery (Angkor being the City, Thom Meaning Great)
In response to positions taken over at the Canon DSLR Challenges on my new Galleries, AND a new Gallery....See Below:
Regarding the galleries and how they are negotiated...I am of two minds, on the one hand I want to understand what people are saying, on the other however, there is something inside of me saying....I don't care.
Maybe I need to leave instructions better...but click on image for full screen and then back space to the original journal format does not, at this moment, to me, seem too onerous.
Of course, maybe I'm wrong....but then for me art, reading, photography all require my working with the artist to get to where we need to get to...so I'm used to this work ethic within the framework of any artistic presentation.
Maybe I'm expecting too much...or not. This is really for myself....isn't all art really and truly for the artist alone? (raised eyebrows)
I have decided to not have any header or footer....except in the most minimalistic way....we'll see.
And since galleries keep growing...I don't want them linked....You kind of get what I'm willing and prepared to share....at this moment.
That being said...Angkor Thom is coming together fairly well, and more importantly, the accompanying text is falling into place.

Visually, emotionally and intellectually....I think this Gallery has something to say.
Take a look.

...catchy.
The trick always in a project like this is to just keep oneself motivated to keep on going....because there's a lot to be done and accomplished.
Showing off bits and pieces and getting feed back as I move forward...at least keeps me moving. And there are just great stories...My night in a cold driving rain in the Killing fields on the Mekong....because I bribed my way in...stumbling almost onto a pile of children bones.
The cold, the wet, a gusting monsoon rains in a place of history...everything was just "wow," on this trip.
Eventually I'll get to all of it.
I hope.
I think.
Hee, hee, hee...who knows...lol
And thanks again.
If anyone is inclined, the Galleries on Phnom Penh and On the Road in Cambodia have been expanded.

But maybe it's better to come back in a month.

)It would make a great book.
I'm sure you've looked at making this into something you could put on your coffee table?

Explains some of the background stories of the sculptures.
IIRC there was an alternate history SF by someone I can't remember about how the world would have looked today if the Angkor/Khmer civilisation had taken over the world.
Perhaps we would be four-faced instead of two-faced!
